DIY Bath Salts

DIY Bath salts are a great way to make your bathtime more fun and relaxing. Plus they are a great way to pamper yourself when you relax in the tub. You can buy premade bath salts but they can be expensive. Making your own bath salts is a great way to save money and make the exact bath salts you desire. Homemade bath salts are so easy to make that there is no reason for you to not try this easy DIY project.

Baking bath salts is an easy process that requires just a few simple ingredients. The best part is that they are a great last-minute gift or you can make them any time you need some me-time.

These 4 ounce Mason Jars work very well for the bath salts and only cost a little more than $1. Combine with an adorable Homemade Mint Bath Salt Printable (sign up to get it below) that we created and you have yourself a 5-minute gift. Your friendswill love this cute gift!

Peppermint Bath Salts

You can either make the mint bath salts with mint extract or peppermint essential oil. If you want to use a different scent you can swap the peppermint essential oil with another. Many people like Lavendar bath salts as well since they are so relaxing and help with sleep. You can just swap the peppermint essential oil with Lavender Essential Oil.

Peppermint Bath Salts Supplies

1 Tbsp Baking Soda
2 Cups Epsom Salt
3-4 drops of peppermint essential oil – can swap with another essential oil
4 drops green food coloring(optional)
Homemade Mint Bath Salt Printable (sign up to get it above)
Airtight Container – Mason Jars work very well.

How to Make Bath Salts

  1. Combine your baking soda, Epsom salt and peppermint essential oil in a small mixing bowl.
  2. Using a spoon stir the mixture together and make sure it’s combined nicely.
  3. Add in your 4 drops of food coloring and stir until all the Epsom salt is covered in a minty green color. If you would like your mixture darker just add in a few more drops and be sure to mix well.
  4. Since we are using such a small amount of food coloring it will not color your skin and it will not ruin your bathtub. The food coloring is optional though.
  5. Spoon your mixture into an airtight container and store for up to 6 months.
  6. Place a lid on your container and tie with a pretty ribbon and don’t forget the free printable.
