My husband and I are wanting to buy a house within the next few months and my mom gave me the idea to also check the area of potential homes on Family Watchdogs website. Now that I’ve done this, every single home I’ve searched is just surrounded by child predators!! It makes me so sad. I want to raise our kids in a home where they will be safe and gosh with predators living next door or a few on the same street just really doesn’t work for me! I don’t know if it’s just the place we’re looking in but they really are everywhere here!

I even found a beautiful house right across the street from a park, I checked the address and there’s a child predator living next door.

Anyway, rant over!!

Theyre everywhere, but also keep in mind a LOT of things get you on that list. Things as simple as public urination within a certain distance from a school is a sexual crime against a child, even if it was in the middle of the night. Sex between an 18 yo boyfriend and 17 yo girlfriend is statutory rape of a minor, even if it was consensual, all that needs to happen is an angry parents call. So while yes, you should be aware of your surrounds etc, these websites, like a lot of things on the internet can be misleading. I can see an elementary school from my house, our neighborhood has its fair share of flags too. Our neighborhood is safe, my older children freely go to the park down the street, all my kids play in our yard etc. We’ve been here for years and there’s never been even a sketchy person around.

Not all the dots are specific to children. You have to read the charges. Also, convicted sex offenders are supposed to be that close to a park….i stumbled upon this site maybe 15 yrs ago and it is disturbing! Check your state sex offender registry as well because this site doesn’t update as often. What state are you in? I’m so glad we live in the woods!
