Daniel Fast Desserts
Daniel Fast Cookies
Forget traditional cookies while fasting. They’re full of sugar and processed flours. Instead, opt for this cookie alternative that will still satisfy your sweet tooth. Personally, I like to store them in the fridge and enjoy them cold. You might enjoy them best when they’re warm.
Oatmeal Banana Cookies
- 2 cups quick oats
- 4 medium ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup small raisins or currants (optional)
Preheat oven to 300F. Mash ingredients together in a large bowl, then roll into 1.5 to 2 inch balls. Place onto cookie sheet, flatten slightly, and bake for about 15 minutes.
Daniel Fast Ice Cream
Technically, this isn’t ice cream… we call it “nice cream.”
Cherry Vanilla Nice Cream
- 2 frozen bananas (peel them and cut them in half before freezing)
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1/4 cup unsweetened soy or almond milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla powder
Blend in high powered blender (here’s mine) until smooth.
Daniel Fast Dessert Bars
If you need a sweet treat and don’t want to cook, try keeping some LARABARs in your pantry. They’re made with natural ingredients and most of them don’t have added sweeteners. Just be sure the read the label and make sure the one you’re buying meet the Daniel Fast food list guidelines.
Here are a few LARABAR flavors to try that also work with the fast:
Daniel Fast Granola Bars
We like to keep these easy Daniel Fast granola bars around during the fast. They work for a quick dessert, snack, or on-the-go breakfast.
Bonus — they only have four ingredients, so you can throw them together pretty fast.
Daniel Fast Truffles
If you have a food processor, these are so easy to make.
In your food processor, mix until well combined:
- 1 cup pitted dates
- 1/2 cup pure almond butter
- 2 tablespoons natural cocoa powder (no sugar added)
Remove from food processor and roll into 1″ balls. Then, roll each ball in natural cocoa powder, unsweetened shredded coconut, ground almonds, and/or ground hazelnuts. Yum!
Daniel Fast Cobbler
Sometimes, a warm berry cobbler is just what you need to satisfy any cravings, especially if you’re fasting during the cold winter months.
In a microwave safe bowl, mash one ripe banana into 1/4 cup of unsweetened soy or almond milk. Stir in one cup of frozen berries (I like blueberries!), 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla powder, and a pinch of cinnamon. Microwave for one minute.
Daniel Fast Lemon Balls
If you like lemon, you’ll love these bite-size lemon balls as a Daniel Fast dessert option. Here’s what you need to have on hand:
- 2 cups raw cashews
- 2 lemons, juiced and zested
- 1.5 cups unsweetened shredded coconut, plus extra for rolling
- 1/2 cup pitted dates
Pulse cashews in a food processor until fine and powdery. Add lemon juice, zest, coconut, and dates. Pulse until thickened but slightly moist, adding a tablespoon or two of water if necessary.
Roll into bite size balls, then roll in shredded coconut to cover. Chill in refrigerator.
